Green

Happy Earth Day!

...let me think for a few seconds on what to write about...Oh, here are some of the things that I learn from reading 2 articles on how to "go Green" and would like to share with you.

The first topic will be about food. Eating less meat and dairy is one of the solution. It's a three win ticket: one win for your health, another for your budget, and lastly for the planet. Did you know that raising livestock is responsible for 18% of global greenhouse gases? Plus, try to eat foods that are in season.

Second is personal care. Do not use antibacterial soaps. It is unnecessary, and contribute to the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Try to avoid petroleum byproducts, fragrances, and other unsafe chemicals whenever possible.

Another one is on cleaning: Use old towels and T-shirts instead of disposable wipes and/or paper towels for cleaning. Cut down on the number of cleaning products you use.

Next is how to save energy. To do so, simply by turn out the lights when you leave a room, activate the power-down setting on your computer, unplug the electronics that you aren't using, etc.

How to save water (H2O)?
I found out this one is quite common for some people, and it is brushing your teeth while letting the sink run. This is a waste of water. The best way to solve the problem is to simply turn off the tap while you are brushing your teeth, or anything else. By doing this, it help you to save up to 8 gallons of water a day. In a year, you will save up to 2,880 gallons of water. Another way is to use low-flow shower heads and faucets. The low-flow shower heads and faucets will save water, and the energy it takes to heat water.

Did you know that if everyone in the U.S., then we would save 875 billion gallons of water a year?

Oh well, that's all for now. Happy Earth Day and remember to Go Green!
